UK Boutique Consulting: Succession Planning and Leadership team hire

 

River was mandated by the Chair of a leading UK Infrastructure consulting and advisory boutique to help plan for the succession to the founders. This included a competency review and assessment of the entire top team.

This in turn led to searches for an external UK Managing Director and two new practice areas., alongside a detailed live salary and role benchmarking exercise.

Outcome:

UK MD hires and two practice directors covering new high-growth teams facing off to UK and Global Infrastructure sectors.

River designed the brief, conducted market mapping, detailed analysis and extensive interviewing before presenting three shortlists to complete three hires, two of whom are diverse, an original aim.

Leadership Team build – Wealth Asset Management

 

A Leading Digital transformation needed to provide the next level or Leadership for the Wealth and Asset Management practice. The Practice was very bottom heavy and there was a lot of Consultants to Senior Managers. They wanted to hire Three Directors to help them grow out the team which River filled.

Actions: 

River longlisted circa 200 profiles, engaged with 70 . Through very detailed interviews and conversations we presented 10 candidates. A Leading Digital transformation River was asked Provide the next level or Leadership for the Wealth and Asset Management practice. The Practice was very bottom heavy and there was a lot of Consultants to Senior Managers. They wanted to hire Three Directors to help them grow out the team which River filled.

Outcome:

One successful Candidate was hired as a Partner and then two candidates were hired as Managing Principals.

M&A Consulting Partner Hire

 

Dealing with the Head of Integration and Separation for a major M&A consulting team. Who engaged River Partnership to introduce Partners with a specialisation in technology M&A consulting. The Individual had to bring a network or relationships. Proven track record of development and thought leadership of tech M&A topics.

Actions: 

River longlisted 120 profiles, engaged with 50 and presented 20

Outcome:

After a detailed technical interview process, River Placed the successful candidate with the client and they came from a Competitor.

Managing Director for a PE Backed Corporate

 

2 Managing directors, to take on the Leadership of 2 key markets and transform/further boost activity. Needed to have local consumer market knowledge, leadership and management skills, and know the beauty industry. Headquarters not in capital cities, adding a difficulty to the search

Actions: 

Produced a comprehensive long list with Leaders of the Beauty/Luxe industry in each location, identified brands/masons that matched the Client’s environment & size, worked with NDAs to ensure confidentiality of the process.

2 MDs hired, in France and Spain

Building up a new Energy Practice – French/Benelux

 

A Leading Digital transformation firm wanted to launch a brand new Energy offering in the French/Benelux market. Not known in this industry on this market, they were seeking an entrepreneurial Partner to build and launch this new service line from 0.

Actions: 

River used a data-led approach to map the French market, identifying and benchmarking Top Talents that would have the market knowledge, entrepreneurial mindset, and successful track record to build a practice from the ground up.

River managed the process throughout, introducing profiles that were not initially looking for a change nor familiar with the firm, helping the client benchmark them and narrow the ideal experience needed for the project, resulting in the hire of a Female Partner.

French / Benelux Insurance Partner

 

Insurance Partner search, not present in the insurance sector on the French/Benelux market. The client was seeking a Partner to establish the brand in this new industry and build from the ground up an insurance practice (including defining market potential, business strategy, client segmentation, etc).

Actions:

Map the French market, identifying competing firms and Leaderships teams, benchmarking Partners that would have the entrepreneurial background and industry connections to build a practice from the ground up and attract a team.

AI Partner for a Digital transformation firm

 

A Leading Digital transformation firm had ongoing projects touching on AI topics, identified a gap in their offering and were keen to hire a AI focused Partner to develop and strengthen their offerings, sizing the rise in demand

Actions:

Introduced a Leader in the AI space, developing Ai/GenAi offerings at a top tier firm. He was not looking, we got him curious, helped position the Client and their value proposition, encouraged and facilitated soft introductions with the Client which then turned into interviews and a solid business proposition
